Do you travel?
Absolutely! My general travel radius includes most of the greater Ottawa area in Ontario, but I'm happy to join you at your dream destination location for your photo session or event. Please contact me if you are outside of my usual travel radius, or if you are unsure whether your desired photography location falls in this area. I'll provide a quote that includes a travel fee, if one applies.
Do you offer discounts on your photography packages?
I occasionally offer limited-time discounts on social media. Be sure to follow This Moment Portraits on social media to be the first to know about pop-ups, discounted mini-sessions, portrait package sales, and giveaway announcements!
Is there a maximum number of people who can be included in my group?
Generally, I recommend keeping your group number to 8 people or fewer for Minis and Classic sessions. This helps ensure you get a wide variety of photos while still giving everyone a chance to shine. If you have more than 8 people in your group, I recommend a Premium session or a custom session. Please contact me if you have questions about your group size as I can always find ways to showcase your group and capture your moments!
What should I wear during my portrait session?
My number one piece of advice is to put your comfort first. I know first-hand that it's an unpleasant distraction when you aren't comfortable in what you're wearing, and it's tough to hide discomfort from your facial expressions if you're distracted by that. Avoid garments that itch, make you feel too hot or cold, or make you feel like you have to constantly adjust the clothes. Dress in layers that you can add/remove during your session if you're unsure of the weather. Choose accessories that don't cause pain. Remember: I can edit out things like lint or brand logos, but I won't give you a facial expression or posture that you didn't actually have during your photo session.
Next, choose outfits and accessories that are true representations of your self-expression and personality. These are your authentic portraits, and you deserve to shine confidently and honestly! When you book a session with me, I'll provide you with an up-to-date photo session prep guide that helps inspire you to choose seasonal outfits that feel most like you AND will look amazing in your final photos.
Remember: as long as you're able to stay present in the moment of your session and enjoy the memories being made, your portraits are sure to look spectacular no matter what you wear!
What if there's bad weather during my session?
While inclement weather isn't always ideal, embracing heat, rain, or even snow often leads to truly unique and honest portraits! I encourage clients to lean in to unexpected weather conditions when it's safe to do so, and I prepare backup pose lists that are designed to use the weather to our advantage.
In the event of dangerous or severe weather, I offer free rescheduling (subject to availability).
When can I expect my photos to be delivered?
For most of my session packages, photos will be delivered within 2 weeks from the date of your photo session. Let me know if you need your photos sooner and I'll include my rush delivery fee on your quote.
For multi-hour events (including weddings), photo galleries will be delivered within 4 weeks.
What do you require in order to confirm session appointments?
In order to confirm your photo session at your preferred time, I require a 50% retainer fee payment and a signed Terms & Conditions Agreement. Without these two items, your preferred time cannot be held or reserved.
Are there any types of photo sessions you DON'T do?
I am not equipped to provide boudoir photo sessions, branding photo sessions, or sports photography at this time. I do not specialize in product photography or real estate photography. I do not provide videography services.
What if I don't want my photos to be shared online or shown to the public?
Your privacy is a top priority to me! My Privacy Policy is very client-friendly when it comes to this subject, as I make it easy for you to request that your photos be kept private. All you have to do is send me an email stating that you do not want your photos shared. You can send this message at any point during your booking or post-session process. Once I receive this request, your photo gallery will be kept hidden from public view and will also be password-protected. I will also refrain from sharing your photos anywhere else online, including on social media, or in print. I offer this service as a courtesy at no extra cost!
